Simple chorizo hash with pita and yoghurt

About the Recipe

An easy dish that draws upon flavours from across the Mediterranean with tzatziki inspired yoghurt, pita bread, chorizo and crunchy potatoes for a spicy concoction that comes together in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

2 large potatoes

1/2 a chorizo

1/2 standard size greek yoghurt

Juice of 1/2 lemon

1 clove garlic grated, or 2 finely chopped

2 pita breads

1/2 onion


Preparation

  1. Cut the chorizo however you would like, add to a fry pan and lightly fry for around 2-3 minutes.

  2. For the potato: grate the potato, add a pinch of salt and roughly pat try after. Then slice your onions very thin (should ideally be roughly the size of the potato). Add both to a frying pan with a generous quantity of oil and the leftover chorizo fat. Leave for around 5 mins before checking how brown the bottom is getting, and, depending on preference remove.

  3. Heat your pita, mix the yoghurt, lemon, garlic and a pinch of salt, then combine all the elements to serve!
