An image of amatriciana I made

Amatriciana –  A Shakespearean sonnet

How can I do justice to this glorious dish,

Tomato and pasta and Guanciale; how marvellous!

All I can do is write a little wish,

For someone to make me a dish so stupendous.

Make sure to slice the Guanciale with utmost care,

Fry it, then, in a simple pan until truly golden brown.

Open a can of tomatoes gently so as not to tear,

The delicate, plump, juicy flesh deserving a crown!

Now ensure your pasta is boiled in some suitably salty water.

Fry the tomatoes as you do so on a gentle heat in a pan,

Add the fried Guanciale – so good you may saunter!

This sauce will be so divine, you will instantly be a fan.

Now stop what you’re doing and wait for a moment

To savour and enjoy every instance of flavour bombardment.
